Benefits of volunteering.

Volunteer lawyers:

  • represent children in Juvenile court "deprived" cases;
  • conduct jury and non-jury trials on their behalf;
  • represent children as guardians ad litem in "show cause" hearings; and,
  • mentor law students.

Law students may:

  • act as volunteer legal assistants for TLC attorneys on their case;
  • interview children in the shelter prior to "show cause" hearings; and,
  • represent children as guardians ad litem in "show cause" hearings.
