Lunch and Learn – Medication Therapy
April 15, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Wendy Williams, RN, MS, MPH, current member of the TLC Board of Directors has prepared a training for our volunteer attorneys on the use of Medication Therapy. 1 hour CLE has been approved. All attorneys are welcome!
Families and children who have experienced trauma are often more prone to mental health disorders. In particular, “children and youth involved in child welfare may be at greater risk for mental health issues than children in the general population, because of histories of trauma including maltreatment or separation from parents and/or siblings.” (www.childwelfare.gov)
Medication can be useful in the treatment of these mental health disorders, but children and youth in the child welfare system are more likely to be overprescribed psychotropic medication than children and youth outside of the system. Learn more about this over prescription crisis and how to better advocate for the children and youth you represent.
Due to continuing COVID-19 precautions, this Lunch and Learn will be hosted virtually on Zoom. We are not doing preregistration, but you will be required to email us after the training with the appropriate information to get your CLE credit.
