TLC Annual Training – Day 1

Join us for the first day of our virtual annual training – 3 hours of MCLE, including 1 hour of ethics. Registration is required. Numerical codes will be provided throughout the training. These codes should be emailed to Sonya (volunteer@tulsakidlaw.org) along with your Name and OBA Number to get CLE credit. Register for Day 1.
The Ethics of Representing the Minor Client, by Sarah Brown
This ethics program will provide a practical overview and discussion of ethical issues that are crucial when representing children. The program will cover the requirements found in Title 10A, the attorney’s duty of confidentiality, the attorney-client relationship, the client’s preferences and interests, and more. The program will provide you with a wide-ranging discussion of important developments related to the hallmarks of representing children.
The Ripple Effects of Trauma, by Dr. Tessa Chesher and Dr. Sara Coffey
This presentation will go over the effects of trauma in children at various ages and how trauma may present in your work at Tulsa Lawyers for Children. We also will look at data specific to the TLC population and discuss how this data can inform your work. Finally, one of the ripple effects of trauma is vicarious traumatization, this presentation will also discuss how the ripple of this work can affect how the work is done as well.
